The President's Clear & Present
Warning From Narco-Terrorists

Published February 16, 2011 - Periodically Updated
It is clear that the narco-terrorism that's festering at and beyond our border with Mexico has moved to a new phase. American civilians, U.S. diplomatic staff, and now federal officers within our Department of Homeland Security (DHS), are being strategically targeted by gunmen. In time, like now in Mexico, the shock of attacks on U.S. public officials may signal a clearer confirmation of an actual drug war.

Mexico's ability to effectively eradicate drug trade terrorists is obviously failing. The degree of failure is now irrelevant. Despite Mexican President Felipe Calderón's perspective on U.S. narcotics consumption being the main menace, drug trade terrorism is what's actually increasing the body count and fear in his nation.

Mr. Calderón's view may also be a disabling factor in his best efforts against the cartels that have de facto seats in the Congress of Mexico beyond his nation's police forces. To some effect, many Mexican police and soldiers have been taking action. However, the tactics of the terrorists are what people remember.

The purposeful targeting and killings of U.S. federal officers and personnel are the early stages of greater attacks on American soil and national security. Once the bloodletting boundaries have been pushed, there is the logical expectation that more brazen acts will occur — the very purpose of terrorism. With beheadings and other Taliban and Al-Qaeda tactics being used by the drug cartels, DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano's tactical handbook may have to be revised. Terrorists fear terror too.

More clear is the systemic corruption that has neutralized Mexico's will and ability to do major battle against heavily financed and armed terrorists determined to control governance and policy — as well as their drug trade. Surely they will have to step-up their violent acts as they gain and maintain leverage over Mexico's police and military forces. Killing U.S. federal officers and officials only affirms this mission.

Is it an understatement to say that President Barack Obama now has to prioritized our numerous special operations assets against the clear and present dangers that have reached a tragic and obvious tipping point at our southern border? February's assassination of another agent, Special Agent Jaime Zapata of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is no longer about reducing criminal activity and violence.

The expectation or perception that the U.S. government is either reluctant or hamstrung in targeting and terminating this new flavor of terrorists simply due to geography and diplomacy only emboldens their terror tactics. In this case, increasing drug profits rather than a twisted theology is their religion.

No doubt, after September 11th it is uneasy and alarming to say we're under attack. Nevertheless, the casualties will surely grow, reaching even further into our border towns, cities and further north.

It is no longer dismissible or debatable that narco-terrorists have declared war on America.

President Obama's Fail-Safe Middle East Maneuver
Published February 1, 2011 - Periodically Updated
Some major manure is hitting the fan across the Middle East. President Obama must already know that citizens throughout the region want change to believe in too. The United States has a critical window of opportunity to be a beacon or a damper for their aspirations.

Beyond using our diplomacy back-channels to Middle East friends, foes and assorted assets, POTUS and the U.S. State Department may have to pump-up the volume on the virtues of democracy in connection with the inevitable change that's overdue in many autocratic Middle Eastern nations.

Obtuse diplomatic rhetoric will only serve to affirm that America's 'We, the people' principles are simply stale and false words applicable only to a bygone era in our history. The people are already in the streets, and by all accounts they know why, how and where they want to go. If we're not attentive, we may miss the invitation for support being forwarded to us. Failing-safe in the Middle East is critical.

Aside from the usual opportunistic thugs that will always try to take advantage during these times, the vast majority of Egyptians and Tunisians want nothing more than what we have — the freedom to be free. Once again we have the opportunity to be on the right side of history with the people making it.

We should expect that the Obama Administration will not allow the widening wounds of Egypt and Tunisia to fester into a cancer infested by extremists or chaos. Moreover, POTUS 44 can use his well earned integrity with countries across the Middle East to collectively confer and publicly advocate for democracy on behalf of its people. Our true friends and allies won't take offense.

Coincidentally, this strategy also enhances the status of those leaders who really prefer respect rather than fear from citizens. It also redirects the Middle East from a trajectory of instability that erodes our long term relations and goals — plus further degrading or complicating our efforts in similar regions.

Overwhelmingly, the protests are from a younger generation of Arab citizens we will have to face in the near and distant future. Staying ahead of this curve enables America to land in the right circle over the horizon. Anything less disables the integrity of democracy we profess and promote throughout the world.

2011: The State Of The Obama Presidency
Published January 25, 2011 - Periodically Updated
The politics and politricks of the 2011 State of the Union address aside, let's look at the cumulative results of Barack Obama's Presidency so far. Arguably, more than any U.S. President in modern times, this 44th president has stacked-up a tall record of major accomplishments in his first two years.

The world stage, though precarious in many ways during these challenging economic times, has become a bit more steady and promising. No doubt, there are some significant economic, military and geopolitical forces forming ahead of us — as well as some specifically against us. However, upon closer inspection of what has actually been accomplished by the Obama Administration to date, there's a greater sense we will both survive and thrive against the challenges of this new decade.

We should expect POTUS 44 to always be aware of the inherent smoke, mirrors and setbacks in our complex relations with mainland China, ongoing Middle East turmoil, Congressional partisan posturing, Africa's strategic importance, plus the growing criminal terrorism and illegal immigration crossing America's southern borders. Fortunately for us and President Obama, effective multitasking is one of his assets — though we can debate which task is more important.

Without any doubt or debate, increased American job creation must be President Obama's highest priority. For my tax dollars, far greater attention to bolstering and expanding our green economy — and its vast variety of related jobs — is America's strongest economic ace for the present and future. This is a major legacy and strategic opportunity for exponential economic gains President Obama should not falter on.

Furthermore, no amount of warranted attention to all of our most important global issues, will ever trump fixing and strengthening our domestic employment, education and economic sectors. A house that's crumbling within cannot be strengthen from the outside.

The fact that this president now understands the wisdom of operating with strength from the center is an encouraging prognosis for more progress in how his Administration tackles our national problems. It also means Mr. Obama is genuinely listening — versus the yacking and pretense that far too many across our political spectrum do without two-cents worth of a constructive plan or results for us average Americans.

For 2012, Is President Obama Really
Listening To The People In The Middle?
Originally Published May 21, 2010 - Periodically Updated
President Barack Obama may have received a rough break, but welcomed outcome, during the 'Super Tuesday' May 18th elections. Yet, underneath are detectable slow-rolling vibrations of centrist, moderate and semi-liberal voter discontent — the middle. There's impatience, even intolerance, about a perceived trend in the "change" POTUS 44 promised during his campaign.

Among many, the euphoria over his historic election has worn off. Jobs are still not coming fast enough, the economy is still detectably shaky, too many people are still ass-out of affordable home ownership, an Afghan quagmire seems to be setting in — and there's that overdue unfinished business and festering anger about illegal immigration's exponential effect on many urban and suburban cities. That's just a few of the top tier challenges on Mr. Obama's to-do list.

Yes, we can be grateful about this President's efforts to improve the image, geopolitical logistics and perception of America in a complex globalized economic and political world. Then again, despite the reality of globalization, politics and politricks are still local. All the more reason why Mr. Obama must do much more connecting and communicating locally, beyond the predictable pep rally rhetoric of meet-ups and town hall talk fests that many are growing jaded about.

Real one-on-one face time and campaign-style local listening tours matter — and I'll say it for all those thinking it, those Weekly Address website videos just aren't hitting the spot anymore. A truly clear and informative 24/7 'Obama Channel' couldn't hurt — considering the myopic and moronic coverage by most of commercial broadcast and print news. Still today, "The medium is the message" — and it is defining and redefining this POTUS to an already cynical electorate.

However, I'm hoping with few reservations — for all that Barack Obama is capable of doing and being as potentially one of our greatest Presidents in several generations — that he truly pays very close attention to the political and socioeconomic angst of that expanding electorate in the middle. Being liked, based on polls, is not the same as being desired and rehired regarding getting the job done — a job most voters felt  they closed the deal on during Election Day 2008.

Beyond the radar of even his closest and wisest advisors, President Obama has the potential of having his re-election chances sucked into an electoral black hole by the collective energy of voters that feel or perceive that he was not really listening to them on the above and other core voter issues. Surely, the mess left behind by the previous Administration has been daunting during his recovery efforts — aside from the gauntlet of partisan vipers forever in his path.

Nevertheless, as the electorate of change will still struggle to keep lasting faith in his promises, "change" could soon mean considering a different choice in the next Presidential election.

UPDATE — Obama to Press Centrist Agenda in His Address>>
The New York Times - January 22, 2011:
President Obama will outline an agenda for “winning the future” in his State of the Union address on Tuesday night, striking a theme of national unity and renewal as he stresses the need for government spending in key areas and an attack on the budget deficit. Mr. Obama previewed the themes in a video e-mailed Saturday evening to supporters who had helped in his election campaign. But the video made plain that his speech would be geared more broadly toward the political center, to independent voters and business owners and executives alienated by the expansion of government and the partisan legislative fights of the past two years...>>  &

UPDATE — Lessons Learned & Actions To Take
November 5, 2010:
Many pundits may perceive the 2010 U.S. mid-term election and political rebalancing was simply a rebuke of President Obama. The deeper truth is that, while most news media and observers have devoted much attention to the loudest and oddest noise makers around the great American electoral tent, the real show is in the middle of the auditorium.

During the coming months, the polarized American majority in the political middle enduring the greatest socioeconomic burdens will once again measure this President by the results of what he does rather than the words he uses to describe it — or the GOP's partisan spin. Straight-to-the-point, Americans want jobs and more substantive economic hope — yesterday! It may even take an FDR-style federal WPA effort to generate the kinds of paychecks many desperately need to get beyond this and future fiscal quarters.

Moreover, the financial institutions that eagerly used taxpayer money to stay solvent need a form of federal jacking-up against the wall to put more money out to the people and U.S. economy they profit from daily.

POTUS and the rebalanced Congress are now in their respective pilot and co-pilot seats to show actionable proof that they can govern us out of this economic storm. Otherwise, metaphorically, there may be a messy electoral mutiny on aircraft America during the 2012 election year — making this recent mid-term election uproar look like a relatively genteel type of 'tea party.' Metaphorically speaking, of course.

The "Change" next time could also mean electing very different Democratic, Republican, Independent, and other in-between choices to the Executive and Legislative branches — a change many are more willing to protest for, make, and believe in. It can happen again because it has all happened before — and the politics of human nature and populist socioeconomic frustration won't allow for any other scenario.

Ultimately, President Obama and all of Congress must remember it is and always will be the voters — i.e. taxpayers, a.k.a. the people that elect (hire) them and pay their salaries — that will be the final arbiters of whether they keep their jobs on Election Day.

POTUS 44 — being the level-headed, generally persuasive, articulate executive and critical thinker that convinced us to elect him in the first place — should understand by now that motivating Congress to support him requires persuading the people within and beyond his base to put persistent pressure on their Congressional representatives to do the right thing for the very people that hired them.

He already knows they prefer to pander to their fears and misinformation to stay in office. He needs to do a better job at pointing them out and, more importantly, showing even more visible action on job creation.

His efforts at trying to be bi-partisan is a tremendous waist of energy during widespread and accelerated bad economic times. It's been fully proven that there's no strategic gain in kissing anymore ass — be it Republican, Democratic, Conservative, Liberal, lobbyist, cable news, or multinational corporate buttocks.

Respectfully, to paraphrase a previous Presidential mantra: 'It's the people, stupid.' — in 2010 and beyond.

Virtually no sovereign nation allows unlimited and unaccountable access across their borders. Even Mexico takes strict and quick punitive action against any American or others for illegal entry into their country. Also, like so many other governments, they monitor your intentions and whereabouts when visiting. Beyond our census every 10 years, like every other nation, we have the right and responsibility to know who is in America.

Immigration Reform Isn't & Must Not
Be Discrimination By Another Name
Let's say someone broke into your house while you're on a long vacation. When you return home, this person asserts they have a right to stay because they've been living there, paying for necessities, and that their great-granddad once lived their. What American citizen with half a brain and a pulse would only say, “You're right. Do your thing!”

So why is it such a stretch or issue to have a fully enforced and accountable immigration system in the United States. Well, beyond the politics and politricks played by illegal immigration advocates and adversaries, there is a deeper  and insidious effort by many to contort effective control of American borders as a ethnic bias issue. Surely, you can also expect this to be done to greater advantage, delay, distortion, and political intimidation during an election year.

The facts and reality are that illegal immigration into the U.S. has always been and is still a federal crime committed by individuals from European, Asian, African, Caribbean as well as Latin American countries of every hue and ethnicity. Though we are genuinely "a nation of immigrants" to a land once predominantly and originally occupied by diverse North American Indians, we certainly are not a nation for unchecked illegal immigration. Yet, we must always attract, appreciate and absorb the best energies and contributions of all new legal U.S. citizens — our greatest national asset.

However, to twist our immigration problems into a tool to empower distorted or divisive rhetoric, ethnic voter political advantages, demographic agendas, or a self-serving cultural ideology only insult and eliminate most American citizens' ability to support people very similar to their own ancestors from foreign lands. The average American is empathetic and supportive to those struggling like them for success in America. However, deep down, we feel very insulted and bamboozled by talking points or lame logic that cleverly ignores the fact that we make, have and legally change laws that govern all of us that choose to become full legal citizens — through a legal process.

I personally and professionally don't know of any legal or illegal immigrant that comes to the U.S. for six weeks or more just for a vacation. Those who genuinely intended to come here legally (see White House video) went through one of several proper legal processes so they can live and prosper in America freely — without having to dodge ICE agents or police officers, live off the books, create anchor babies or scam marriages, use false or stolen documents, benefit from identity theft, exist in shadows with bare or below minimum wages, or suffer employer exploitation.

Even now, American citizens can get an extremely tamper-proof high security U.S. passport card, which is effectively a portable form of legal citizenship identification — and an all-purpose truly certified personal ID. Anyone genuinely intending to be a legal American citizen can get one of these passport cards after paying an illegal entry fine, back taxes, and legally applying behind the thousands that annually go through the U.S. immigration process legally. Genuine intentions can only be proven by first fully obeying all American laws — the first real test of citizenship.

Proponents seeking to reframe and rebrand 'illegal immigration' reveal their true intent by encouraging others to ignore U.S. laws that govern every American citizen regardless of ethnicity or accent. Eventually this effort is seen as nothing more than a ploy to justify an alternate agenda, and deflect from the real issues by alleging racial profiling. Potential U.S. citizen supporters truly concerned about fairness soon feel confused, insulted or duped...
Without any doubt, federal, state, and local authorities must impose major fines and jail time to any person or business employing illegal immigrants whether as nannies, nurses, engineers, produce pickers, construction workers, et cetera. The Obama Administration can again show authentic and competent leadership on a critical national security challenge — while eliminating an indentured class of low wage cheap labor. Fining employers and private individuals a minimum $5,000 per illegal immigrant, plus 5 years in a federal prison for violating U.S. laws sends a powerfully effective and justifiable message. No one stays where they cannot work. Nor are they willing to risk imprisonment and deportation for committing crimes to get money.

Staying and working in America just by being able to illegally enter is not an entitlement. The so-called "path to citizenship" will easily be seen as another amnesty effort, used by previous presidents, that will only inspire continued illegal crossings by those who feel the risk is worth it.

Sanctuary cities embed long term stresses on legal residents by increasing the use of fiscal, housing, health, schools, diverse jobs, infrastructure and other resources by illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants don't live in a distant universe independent of taxpayer-funded public services.

Again, no illegal immigrant comes to America for a long vacation. Removing the real reason and lure for illegal immigration is true evidence of a truly effective and fully enforced immigration policy. That policy must have the integrity of being genuinely unbiased ethnically. Anything less, or without the full funding and personnel needed to enforce it, is simply state sponsored fraud.

Moreover, more 'amnesty' is simply just a de facto reward for law breaking and — as proven since 1986 — is a stimulus for continued law breaking in a broken U.S. immigration system.

WEEKLY ADDRESSES
Dennis Moore — POTUSworld.com Publisher — March 30, 2011
As if we haven't experienced yet another 'Sputnik moment' during this 2nd decade of the 21st century, a major British study affirms America is on course to be overtaken in science and technology by China in 2013. As we chat and “tweet” on imported smartphones — mostly made in China — the People's Republic is having intelligent conversations and taking major action-steps toward long term technological dominance in the new millennium.

The latest Royal Society study, Britain's national science academy, gives clear details about how, why and when China will begin to outstrip America in the areas of technological innovation and production well before the end of this decade. There are general indications throughout this study (Knowledge, Networks and Nations: Global Scientific Collaboration In the 21st Century - in PDF) of how diminished educational achievement will be a critical component in the demise of U.S. science and technology leadership.

Beginning in pre-kindergarten, we have to develop and accelerate a cultural mindset that practical science and technology knowledge supersedes sports and entertainment endeavors. Surely, the arts and fitness are priorities too.
However, right now, too many parents, schools and local governments are successful at not pushing children enough to develop a prowess in the sciences and mathematics. Too often, these subjects are perceived to be the exclusive domain of so called nerdy or academically exceptional students.

Our pervasive culture of the “I” and “My” (i.e. iPhone, iPad, Myspace, my taxes, etc.) has placed the 'we' of this nation in a narcissistic concrete box that's sinking us further down into intellectual mediocrity. We are effectively becoming an avid national community of socially networked twits that think, converse, analyze and act in 140 characters of information. The value of sustained engagement in broader knowledge has become a foreign affair.

To his credit, President Obama is doing more than his predecessors to sound and answer the loud alarm that tolls our potential demise in science and technology leadership. However, we must do much more, and money cannot be an issue — unless we're prepared to pay far more later when it's too late.

Technological advancement is a global game. Beyond tax credits and other modest financial incentives, it is urgent for Presidential and Congressional mandates to prioritize education, research, and development in science and mathematics at the top of our GDP productivity tree.

Anything less will speed us faster toward the basement door of mediocrity. As such, without a doubt, I'll gladly trade 20,000 Wall Street money changers for 20 good teachers and research scientists any day — especially now.

The End Of Our World As We Knew It

There's this notion that our debt ceiling will be resolved
somewhere between the 11th hour and Labor Day, and then we can all relax after this latest national trauma. Many inside and outside of our government feel that, after dodging this bullet, we can get back to the business of politics and politricks as usual. Well, if we've been paying genuine close attention, both factually and anecdotally our nation is disintegrating socioeconomically as well as financially. No amount of partisan rhetoric will change the facts in our wallets.

Political disintegration began around 40 years ago as our diverse culture wars and partisan political warfare became a normal form of discourse, governance and national sport — from news cycle to election cycle. Gone are the days of constructive compromise for the greater good. Gone are the days of individual and national sacrifice for the sake of strengthening the whole. Far gone is the era when we could disagree without being disagreeable and destructive. Politricks blinds us from seeing the big picture and long term.

So as we descend deeper into debt and race further down into our self-created socioeconomic chasm, try to remember how the entire country is rooted in the stability and security of our economy. Connect the dots of all the things that require funding in order to function. Remember, steady and fair share taxation, as much as we hate taxes, is what finances everything from infrastructure to dreams. Remember that our entire way of life in the past and now is not funded with magic money that falls from the sky. Yet, we still spend and waste money on what we truly don't need.

Still, as President Lincoln noted, a divided nation — and the broken government that runs on it — cannot stand. Modern times and high tech living won't exclude us from errors and actions that collapsed earlier or similar nations. However, if you're not willing to accept the premise and point of this opinionalysis, then perhaps you'll be willing to hear a little story about a once mighty empire called Rome. >> & >>

The back alley freak show of news has moved to the town square of American journalism. Good luck if you're among the legions of news consumers attempting to rinse your brains after a weekly dose of most mainstream news media coverage — it's not easy, and it will get worse before it improves.

As increasing numbers of alternative and more substantive online multimedia news sources become easily accessible to everyone with a cell phone or computer, we will witness more heightened attempts to hype false issues and mediocre news events in order to hold on to our attention. It's really all about 'The Benjamins' — the decreasing millions of advertising dollars from having your eyeballs and ears focused on nonsense news — junk food for the brain.

President Obama's attempts to bring verbal and mental sanity to the ludicrous questions about his place of birth may only validate the unwarranted attention this false issue has gained through partisan opportunists and moronic media managers. Think about it — this false issue should have been case-closed a long time ago if anyone simply rationalized the fact that since the President's own mother was a born and raised American citizen, does it really matter whether he was born in Hawaii, Houston or Hell?
As we get closer to the 2012 presidential election, partisan parasites of all types will seek our attention to gain advantage for their interests — they're easily recognized by the crap stench flowing from their mouths.

Moreover, we now have to admit that common sense, substantiated facts and critical thinking are no longer a major part of what we assume about the integrity of most news media reportage these days. It's really amazing how long many allegedly sensible and well established news organizations will let a false issue fester within public dialogue before they fully sanitize it with facts and irrefutable evidence. More incredible is how obviously lame they are about discrediting the purveyors that pimp lies and distortions.

The case on President Barack Obama's citizenship and patriotism was closed long ago — before the birth of his World War II veteran grandfather, and his lineage to 6 U.S. Presidents from Madison to Bush. Hopefully, with so many major challenges and events presently in front of us requiring our real attention, we can now tune-out the freaks, fools and liars lurking in America's alleys.

America's real business and priorities can no longer afford debates, delays or distractions by morons — as well as provocateurs of politricks.

By now it should be clearly obvious to many across the political spectrum of criticism about President Barack Obama's means and methods of governance. While he may not be the guy some are likely to have a beer with, there's is much that is now clear about his personality and action-steps.

So many of us have been nurtured to believe that it's the loud and likeable buddy that we want in our leadership. To some degree it provides a comforting sense that he's “one of us” when it comes to his thinking and predictable behavior. However, how many times — except in movies and folklore — have we had to learn it's the cool-calm-quiet guy with the knowing smile that really gets the job done. Yes, we have a President that effectively presides, as well take real care to competently handle our nation's business.
Once again, POTUS 44 has flipped the script on what constitutes talk versus action. The tracking, targeting and terminating of Osama Bin Laden brings added clarity to the point. The most well known and dangerous terrorist, having escaped the veracity of so called “actionable intelligence” by two other U.S. presidents and our allies, was pre-approved before the weekend for termination by a “professorial” commander-in-chief before the end of his first term — with a real plan and the testicles to execute it.

Moreover, it was done with enough consideration to even take care in giving Bin Laden a proper Islamic burial — though many real Muslims are still abundantly, and justifiably, upset over the great disgrace and distortion this terror leader has brought on their religion
including the multiple thousands of fellow Muslims also killed by his direct efforts.

Before most of us finished Sunday dinner, a full-frontal assault, two bullets, followed by routine DNA and forensic evidence gathering ended more than a decade reign for Al Qaeda's spiritual and tactical leader. U.S. Special Forces successfully did the job while none of us sensed, knew of or expected such an event. No leaks, posturing, battleship banners, or fanfare — just results.

Let's get beyond the growing public speculation and news cycle hype about Pakistan's knowledge, or lack of knowledge, regarding Osama Bin Laden's residence. We know Pakistan's leaders defy 2+2 competence. The best way to stay focused is by responsibly releasing summarized and edited versions of Operation Neptune's Spear. The material must edit-out classified strategies, tactics and technologies that would give our enemies any advantage.

Understanding the justifiable security concerns and public reaction by some about such a release, the vast majority of us adults have pre-weighed the considerations decades ago about such matters. Potentially fanning any social or political flames has been factored since most of us know from experience, before and after 9-11, that terrorists will still do what they do regardless of any photo dissemination debate — or questions about our fears. It's about terror.

On another angle, unless President Obama stays ahead of new distractions, inevitably photos or other certified material may surface from other sources. In this regard, these other sources can take the lead on any narrative and details of Operation Geronimo. Imagine WikiLeaks or elements inside the Pakistani government releasing photos or witness interviews. Yes, there are on-scene witnesses including Bin Laden's wife and daughter in Pakistan's custody.

Again, in these times, the President and people don't need another distraction.
All but the most media isolated and insular Americans are very familiar with the graphic reality of death from real life, movies, YouTube, video games, and tonight's TV police drama. If I dare to speak for many average Americans, our focus will be on the nameless brave and competent soldiers that did what most of us only fantasized about doing to the mastermind and financier of nearly 3,000 U.S. deaths. We get it — the visible horrors and dangers are obvious.

We surely know that what our highly capable U.S. special operations forces do is not a game or a 3D action film. We also know, however ironic, it's not an episode of the once widely popular “24” TV show.

Freedom of and responsibility for information is the bedrock of our nation.

President Obama should not waste time wrapping his considerable political intellect around the media metrics about releasing select photos and video clips. It's true that a picture or video can be worth a thousand or more words. From the perspective of my parallax, the four words that will come to the minds of most Americans after seeing official pictures are: Osama is dead — next!

With the release of other photos by Reuters showing three dead Bin Laden compound occupants, reportedly provided by individuals within the Pakistani government, this story won't end until we put an official evidential period on it. Again, this should not be done to nullify conspiracy theorists and assorted doubters. The President has to balance our moral high ground with our equally valid natural instinct for visual/factual affirmation — a.k.a. corpus delicti.

Now, let's continue to stay agile and vigilant on another unilateral mission — what can come next from foreign and domestic Bin Laden supporters, or wannabes. Reality is usually less uglier than our fears and imaginations.

When Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speaks of “demographics” and “reality” regarding ongoing Israeli-Palestinian disputes, there has to be a closer look at all the actual realities. It is not just about the ever expanding Palestinian population or the continuous building of Jewish settlements.

There is a broader demographic-political reality rooted in changes going on globally, and more locally in the Middle East-North Africa region. More countries and their citizens are pondering the implications of non-sustainable cycles of war, strife and terrorism rooted in the volatility of ongoing Israeli-Palestinian violence. Increasingly, nations beyond this region are reassessing their global and regional interests in ways that invalidate one-nation relationships or one-dimensional diplomacy. The United States is no different.

President Barack Obama is correct to underscore that Israel is a vital, historic and longstanding ally. However, Israel is not and cannot be our only ally and strategic factor across dramatically changing geopolitical equations. The diplomatic paradigms related to Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America has seen major political and economic changes in the last ten years. The changes going on right now among Middle Eastern and North African states forecast even greater opportunities and challenges for America.

Can we afford to be myopic and unilateral in the face of the broader spectrum and global implications of our relationship with one nation? The record of our history proves this to be a dangerous pursuit in the short term and over time. The very reason that the United States has been able to prosper, lead and succeed globally on so many diplomatic, political, economic, social and technological levels during the 20th century was due to our agility and ability to respond to the big picture of our national interests.

The demographic, economic and sociopolitical changes of the 21st century hold even greater promise and prosperity for the United States as long as the global and regional realities right in front and ahead of us are our focus. Surely, old friends are invaluable. Yet, we can afford, and should always exercise our right, to have many friends — as well as seek and welcome new ones. It's the American way.

Not that President Obama is in need of any more ideas or guidance about an equatable and pragmatic peace path for Israel and Palestine. However, there is another way that may be just as viable as the ones that have been on the table since the Carter and Clinton Administrations.
With emphasis, this other plan is equal, practical and doable if all parties are in truth, and action-steps, honest partners and brokers in the peace process:

The 2012 Peace Plan
• All Palestinian and Israeli representatives must equally and fully agree to the right of Israel and Palestine to exist as sovereign, exclusively controlled and defensible nations with internationally recognized borders.

• Diagonally partition Israeli and Palestinian lands from southernmost Netanya down to Hebron at the middle point of the Dead Sea. From 31 December 2012 to 31 December 2019, the border is exclusively monitored and controlled by the Israeli Defense Force. From 1 January 2020 on, the border is controlled by a non-military Israeli-Palestinian Border Commission under the full authority and rules of the United Nations. SEE MAP BELOW.

• To foster long term interconnected cultural relationships between Israelis, Palestinians and Christians, the entire land areas of Jerusalem and Golan Heights will become permanent and neutral international multi-religious multi-ethnic districts. They will be equally controlled, administered and ruled by an equally composed Israeli-Palestinian-Christian District Council administered by Israelis, Palestinians, and Christians with no allegiance to any religious, sectarian, ethnic, political or governmental organizations. A rotating presidency of the IPCDC will be lead by an Israeli, a Palestinian, and then a Christian in successive two-year terms.

• The United Nations, or another mutually agreed upon neutral international organization, will oversee and rule on all future political, economic, military and territorial disputes beginning on 1 January 2020. All determinations and decisions made by the U.N., or another designated neutral international entity, are legally binding by all parties involved in any future disputes.

• The United States will forever remain a permanent military ally in the defense and military logistical support of Israel against all external enemies.

• The governments of Israel and Palestine are both forever and fully pledged to commit all future disputes and differences to arbitration by a mutually agreed upon neutral international organization.

Politics, history, and human nature has proven that no Israeli-Palestinian peace plan will be a panacea or guarantee against future disputes.

However, the greater reality that Prime Minister Netanyahu, President Obama, Palestinians, and assorted interests cannot escape, ignore, deny, delay or explain away is that unsettled and sustained Middle East wars, violence and socioeconomic instability is inevitability disastrous for all.

Our window of opportunity is steadily and rapidly closing.

Inevitable Israel & Palestine

Imagine a sudden total electrical blackout where tap water doesn't run, electrical devices stop working, cell phones go dead, emergency first responders are paralyzed, and news broadcasters are blocked. That is just a relatively mild scenario of what can happen after an intentional cyberattack by a highly capable enemy government or stateless terrorists.

Our vulnerability has the urgency of a toddler wandering into a busy highway. Metaphorically, and in reality, our entire way of life will become roadkill without effective prevention and retaliation strategies that are definite and decisive. It's no wonder that the Obama Administration is raising the stakes on what can and must be done in the event of an expanded and orchestrated high-tech attack on our digital electronic and electrical systems.

The potential nightmare of cyberattacks on nuclear energy controls, regional power grids, or command and control assets at nearby military bases is a clear and present reality. Fortunately, along with numerous other government and private entities, we also have a robust U.S. Cyber Command charged with investigating, monitoring, coordinating, and responding in this age of cyber warfare. For these cyber soldiers, it is most definitely not a video game.

However robust CyberCom is, President Obama is regularly briefed on the growing urgency of increased and dry-run cyberattacks on U.S. cities, critical businesses, government agencies and military resources in our overall defense strategies. Whether it comes from rogue elements within nations, top policy makers of enemy governments or lone high-tech terrorists, taking a lackadaisical public attitude toward this hacker threat is a major weak link in our ability to protect ourselves.
Beyond our favorite websites, it is truly a brave new and very ugly world out there in cyberspace. Adding to the efforts of the National Cyber Security Alliance and others, the President will be timely, most responsible and justified in raising the volume for public awareness and preparedness about the realities of cyber security. Easily emanating from the viral coding intentionally loaded onto the increasingly inexpensive smartphone, netbook PC or computer tablet of an attacker, cyberattacks are now cheap, portable, and destructive.

These potential weapons of mass destruction and chaos absolutely do exist.
